The Baiuca was for many years a tavern like so many others that one can find in Alfama, but in the year 1998 by the hand of its new owner it is completely remodeled. But the original elements like the wooden frontispiece and the marble counter were kept.
Nowadays the Baiúca is a meeting point for amateur fado singers, but also for the many foreigners that go to the house through the advice of friends and lovers of this quarter.
